A
Database is a collection of information, organized
in such a way that a computer program can quickly
select desired pieces of data. It may help
to think of it as an electronic filing system.
Traditional
databases are organized hierarchically,
with fields, records, and files. A field
is a single piece of information; a record
is one complete set of fields; and a file
is a collection of records.
The 2 most common uses for databases are probably as a way
of storing customers' details or a catalogue of products.
A database ensures that the visitor can quickly and easily
find the information and see the pertinent prices/details
that correspond. The more commonly used databases are shown
